Erica-sue

Erica Davies, a Welsh native, graduated from London's prestigious Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in 1995, has worked with renowned designers since her graduation. Having an opportunity to move to New York, Erica joined Marc Jacobs, where she freelance designed for the Marc Jacobs Two C label for his Japanese license.

In 1997, designer Richard Tyler selected Erica to collaborate on the Byblos women's label, as well as Tyler's own signature collection. Over the next three years Erica built a lasting relationship with her mentor Richard Tyler.

In 2000 Erica was picked to join MaxMara on multiple collections (Sportmax & Max & Co.) as well as (BCBG MaxAzria). Erica's two year stay with MaxAzria had allowed her the benefit of many successful New York runway shows, which all resulted in rave reviews.

By 2002, Erica was persuaded by her mentor Richard Tyler to once again come back to Los Angeles to work on his new collection Tyler, a more youthful diffusion line which was heavily influenced by Erica's personnel eclectic style. Tyler received enthusiastic praise for this hip new collection and Erica was beginning to feel her own opportunity had come.

In 2003 Erica Davies founded her own eponymous collection, davies. This collection of luxurious dresses continues today while she maintains her passion for design of the development collection.

Sue Tsai. Sue was born in Taiwan, and moved to the United States at the age of five. Sue attributes her basic instinct for fashion from her mother, who designed custom lingerie while in Taiwan.

Sue, graduated from FIDM for fashion design in 1996 and began designing for Los Angeles-based label William B. Having spent four years working on Williams's collection, she was hand picked by Earl Jean's owner Suzanne Friedman to come onboard and create their denim outerwear collection.

Upon Earl Jeans Company moving to New York, Sue decided that her seven years spent designing and merchandising could be better served as a stylist and began working with respected Magazines such as Italian Vogue, Bazaar, and Vanity Fair.

Sue is expecting her first baby in April 2006. She enjoys working closely in all the company's photo shoots, creating the style to fully capture development's aesthetic. Lula is Sue's Jack-Russell who has become an important part of development's day to day inspiration.
